In honor of International Volunteer Day (IVD), Lebanese Spotlight Youth spearheaded a significant cleanup effort at Horsh Beirut. The journey started with obtaining municipal approval and meticulous planning for the IVD day festivities.
Despite initial challenges and the need to adapt due to inclement weather, the youth-led committees at LSL, including Activity, Media, and Volunteering, collaborated seamlessly. Partnerships with Red Cross, Himaya, DotLeb, and Refuse enhanced the impact of the initiative.
The cleanup day, initially planned for Saturday, was successfully rescheduled to Monday, November 25, 2023. The dedicated team of 150 youth volunteers, along with partners, embarked on the cleanup journey at 8 am. Notably, Mr. Ibrahim Mneimneh, a parliament member, joined the initiative, celebrating the day alongside the enthusiastic youth volunteers. The event not only demonstrated the resilience and adaptability of Lebanese Spotlight Youth but also showcased the power of collaborative efforts in fostering positive change within the community.
