Lebanese Spotlight (LSL) embarked on a heartwarming journey since last November, planning a special event for the Mayyel community. Comprising 20 isolated elderlies at Jaarah Stairs, Mar Mekhayel, Mayyel became the focus of LSL’s efforts after a post-Beirut Blast research project with Procal revealed their need for a safe space and community engagement.
On the evening of December 29, 2023, the Mayyel Community event unfolded at the Armenian church. LSL youth meticulously arranged activities, art, music, and a delectable dinner. Pere Elia, invited by Mayyel, graced the occasion, setting a joyous tone. The evening culminated in small gifts distributed by LSL youth, symbolizing the spirit of care and connection.
