As part of its online initiatives in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO organized on Monday June 8, 2020, a virtual encounter between the Lebanese writer Samar Mahfouz Barraj and children living in confinement in Amioun, during which the author offered a read-aloud of one of her books. The encounter aimed mainly at mitigating the effects of home confinement on children through a fun activity on social media, as well as raising awareness on the importance of reading and the Arabic language.
