In line with UNESCO strategy on education for health and well-being, and Goal 3 of Sustainable Development, that seeks to “ensure health and well-being for all, at every stage of life”, the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO organized a virtual encounter with Lebanese writer Fatima Sharafeddine, and Professeur of Psychology at the American University of Beirut Dr. Ghina Ismail, around the book “Mila’s Pear”, in which Sharafeddine addresses the topic of Anorexia, and the physical, emotional and psychological struggles it entails.
The encounter was attended by secondary students, teachers and heads of departments of several ASPnet schools, and included reading of some passages from the book, as well as a fruitful discussion between the writer, psychologist and participants around health, nutrition and ways to prevent eating disorders.
