In education, especially in Lebanon, Francophonie often equates with teaching and learning the French language. How can the concept of Francophonie go beyond the socio-linguistic boundaries?
Francophone values seem to be a necessity. What role can education play in the development of the Francophonie of tomorrow?
These questions and many others, were raised and addressed during the virtual roundtable organized by the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO on the occasion of the International Francophonie Day, to discuss the place of Francophonie and its ability to adapt to changing times, with the impact of globalization and new information and communication technologies.
The roundtable was moderated by Prof. Wafa Berry Hajj, expert consultant in educational and linguistic engineering, with the participation of Prof. Thérèse El Hachem, research professor and international consultant, specialist in economics and educational planning, Dr. Claudia Abi Nader, university professor and the president of the Conseil de la Pensée in Lebanon, Dr. Daloul Danoun, teacher in didactics and e-designer, and Architect Bashar Tarabay, specialist in heritage preservation and restoration and photogrammetry, who intervened on the Francophone values in the fields of education, creativity, culture and heritage.
